Rally Madison FC Launches Their Inaugural Home Kit
Kit is a Nod to the Women’s Suffrage Movement in Wisconsin
MADISON, WI: Rally Madison once again made history as they debuted their Inaugural Home Kit during their brand launch party on December 12th. The kit is a physical embodiment of all the team represents: not only the Women’s Suffrage Movement of the 1900s, but also the current movement to uplift and support women’s sports.
Each element ties to Rally’s mission of empowering and uplifting Madison’s female athletes. The kit’s yellow sash, adorned with roses, represents the items worn by the suffragists to promote their cause. The yellow rose was their defining symbol, embodying hope, courage, and their unwavering resolve as they risked everything for their voice to be heard. When the final deciding vote was cast in 1920, the sea of red roses, worn by their opponents, was broken by one courageous legislator who donned the yellow rose and delivered the victory that changed America forever. Like the suffragists, Rally’s athletes are breaking new ground as the first women’s soccer team in Madison. They will be motivated and inspired by the strength and resolve of the suffragists that came before them to pave the way.
The trim of the kit features the symbol of the “Crown Jewel,” the symbol of the Madison capitol. The circle represents the capitol’s dome, which is centered over the Four-Lakes Cross. This symbol anchors the team, representing Madison’s steadfast spirit, aspiration, and leadership. On the back of the kit, at the nape of the neck, is a crown, representing the one which adorns the “Wisconsin” statue atop the capitol building. This crown embodies the strength, leadership, and resilience of women. In addition, it serves as a nod to the victory the suffragists received with the passage of the 19th Amendment. The inside of the collar features the tagline: “Rally for Wisconsin.” This is a call to action, rallying Madison together to support, uplift, and celebrate women’s sports. This is our city’s chance to show the nation what true support for the women’s game looks like. Finally, the kit features the Inaugural Kit Patch, which is a historical signifier of the club’s debut look.
“We’re excited to debut the club’s first look for the pitch this spring,” says Alyssa Bruce, the team’s Retail Director. “This jersey encompasses everything we hope the brand inspires for our community.”
