The opening minutes saw both teams settle into an even rhythm, breaking into each others’ defensive third and creating early chances. Rally struck first in the 6th minute when Bever drove down the left side of the box and sent a dangerous ball across goal that deflected off an RKC defender and into the back of the net, giving the hosts an early lead. RKC looked to respond quickly, but Lili Berg and the Rally backline stood firm to preserve the advantage. As the half progressed, Rally continued to create chances in transition. Taylor Gordon threatened from distance with a powerful effort from outside the box and nearly added another in first-half stoppage time, making a strong run toward goal before being denied by the RKC defense. Moments later, the ball remained loose in front of the net, where Megan Murray was first to react, finishing the opportunity to double Rally’s lead and send the hosts into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
Rally carried its momentum into the second half, creating several dangerous opportunities but struggling to find the finishing touch. The visitors shifted the momentum in the 54th minute, pulling a goal back to cut Rally’s lead to 2-1 and set up a tense final stretch.Rally regained control, and Taylor Gordon took center stage in the closing minutes. In the 84th minute, Gordon cut in from the right side of the box and lofted a shot beyond the goalkeeper’s reach and into the top-left corner to restore Rally’s two-goal cushion. Just two minutes later, she struck again, completing a brace and extending the lead to 4-1. Rally put the finishing touches on a dominant performance in the 90th minute when Delaney Cox rose to meet a cross with a header, sealing a 5-1 victory. The win extended Rally’s unbeaten streak to five matches and capped off another impressive performance in front of the home crowd.
