After a satisfying end to its home stint, Rally Madison FC hit the road to take on the Rockford Raptors in a Sunday evening matchup backed by momentum from its first-ever conference win. Led by a brace from Taylor Gordon and a long-range goal from Cat Arnold, Rally Madison earned a 3-0 victory over Rochester FC on Friday night in front of a passionate home crowd. Goalkeeper, Malia Zillman, shut out the Raptors to earn her first clean sheet of the season, thanks to multiple impressive saves, including a diving save off a set piece from just outside the penalty box. With a nearly identical record to Rockford, Rally will look to carry its success on both sides of the ball further into the weekend and secure another three points to extend its win streak.

LAST MATCH RECAP – MAD v RFC

Rally Madison kicked off its second home match of the week under the bright Madison sun, eager to seize all three points after a winless run. The hosts opened the action in full force, immediately asserting control and dominating possession in the attacking third. The early pressure paid off with multiple chances in the opening minutes, including looks from Gordon and Fernau in the 4’. Rochester threatened briefly in the 5’, but Zillman came up big to hold the match level. Fresh into the first half, Rally Madison established its offensive rhythm with sharp passing, confident movement and strong communication across the pitch. 

The breakthrough came in the 11’ when Gordon found a perfectly placed through ball and sent it into the top right corner to give Rally Madison its well-deserved lead. Gordon remained a force throughout the half, creating space, finding chances and leading the attack with confidence. Rally stayed aggressive, nearly doubling their lead on multiple occasions. Walos and Gordon connected well in the final third, while Bever and Hevey each had dangerous opportunities, including a shot off the post in the 21’. Defensively, the hosts remained just as sharp, with key stops and blocks.

After a brief stoppage due to injury, Rally didn’t lose momentum. Instead, they finished the half strong, continuing to press and create quality chances. Their persistence paid off in stoppage time when Cat Arnold struck from distance, sending a long-range effort over the keeper to double the lead at 2-0.

In the second half, Rally Madison maintained control of possession, continuing to create chances while limiting Rochester’s opportunities. Bever and Hevey both came close to adding another, but the finish came in the 77’ when Gordon netted her second of the night to extend the lead to 3-0. Defensively, Rally stayed locked in, highlighted by a standout save from Zillman on a dangerous free kick in the 80’ to preserve the clean sheet. Rally Madison delivered a complete performance in tonight’s match, securing its first win of the inaugural campaign in front of a spirited home crowd.

Rally Madison FC returns to Breese Stevens Field Friday night for its second home match of the week, looking to secure a much-needed result. After scoring twice in Tuesday’s matchup against River Light FC, Madison will aim to build on that renewed offensive rhythm and end its losing skid. The hosts will take on Rochester FC, a team with a nearly identical record, making Friday’s contest a pivotal opportunity for both clubs. With three points on the line and a passionate home crowd behind them, Rally Madison will look to deliver a statement performance and clinch the first victory of its inaugural season.

LAST MATCH RECAP – MAD v RVL

Following an extended road trip, Rally Madison FC returned home to Breese Stevens Field for its second meeting of the season against River Light FC. Rally Madison almost grabbed an early lead in the 6’ when Hevey made a promising run, but was thwarted by the River Light defense. River Light also showed attacking urgency early, but Zillman came up big in the 9’ to hold the score at 0-0. A locked-in Hevey continued to generate chances for Madison in the 12’ and 17’, but was unable to capitalize. In the 23’, Zillman showed up for Rally Madison once again to deny a shot fired on target. Another opportunity showed up for the hosts in the 27’ after a corner kick found Christopher’s feet, but the defender was unable to convert. River Light had a look in the 29’, but Arthur interfered with a key tackle to keep out the danger. Minutes later, Zillman was called on once again with a near-post stop following a dangerous combination play by River Light. In the 39’, Madison handed the visitors a risky free kick opportunity just outside the box, but the Rally keeper responded with a vital block to keep the match level. Murray then nearly put Rally Madison ahead in the 43’, but the shot flew just over the bar. One minute into stoppage time, Hevey added one more promising scoring opportunity to cap a strong first-half performance. After an evenly contested first half, neither side was able to find the back of the net, leaving the score tied 0-0 at the break.

With 45’ left to fight, Rally Madison looked to find a breakthrough. But it was River Light that struck first. Gryzik gave the visitors the lead in the 47’, unleashing a shot to the lower right corner. The visitors doubled their advantage just minutes later in the 51’ when Roberts fired to make it two for River Light. Despite the deficit, Rally Madison continued to create chances. In the 53’, the hosts saw a spell of possession in the attacking third, culminating in a powerful Fernau strike to close the gap with a goal to the good. River Light quickly tallied another goal after a tussle in the box, which earned Fink a penalty kick that Zillman was unable to stop. Zillman continued to tally several impressive saves to deny the visitors a greater advantage, including a phenomenal stop in the 66’. Rally Madison responded in the 69’ with another goal by Gordon. Zillman was called into action again in the 71’, leaving her line to prevent another dangerous chance for River Light. Madison continued to build off its momentum and apply high pressure against the visitors, but was unable to convert its chances. With gas still left in her tank, Zillman made another impressive save in the 84’ to deny a powerful strike by River Light right at the net. With a few minutes remaining in the match, Gryzik grabbed her second of the night off a golden cross to give the visitors a two-goal advantage. In stoppage time, Rally Madison saw numerous chances, but River Light’s back line held firm. Despite a tremendous fight from the home side, the match ended with River Light up four goals to Rally’s two. 

Rally Madison will return to Breese Stevens Field this Friday to take on Rochester FC. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM with a USA vs Paraguay watch party on the pitch to follow.

Rally Madison FC return home for a mid-week matchup against River Light FC on Tuesday night after an extended road stretch ending in a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Aurora. The match marks Rally Madison’s second opportunity to find a win over River Light after falling 2-1 on the road earlier in the season. Backed by a passionate home crowd and vibrant Rose Guard, Rally Madison will aim to pick up a win and all three points to set the tone for its two-game home stint. 

LAST MATCH RECAP – MAD v ARA

Rally took the field tonight at TCO Stadium to face the 2025 Division Champs, Minnesota Aurora FC. This match was set to be a tough test for Rally as Aurora maintained the top spot in the table and had yet to allow a single goal against them this season. Aurora set the tone early, controlling possession and forcing Rally onto the back foot. Aurora found the back of the net in the 18th minute, but the goal was called back for offside, offering Rally a brief reprieve. The relief was short-lived when Minnesota broke through in the 20th minute, slipping past the defense after Berg came off her line, and then doubled their lead just two minutes later with a well-placed cross and header. The momentum stayed firmly with Minnesota, continuing to threaten and taking multiple shots. Despite the one-way traffic, Rally’s defense held strong through much of the half. Lili Berg and the back line came up with a series of key interventions, including blocked corners, clearances under pressure, and a crucial save in the 35th minute to keep the deficit manageable. 

Rally showed flashes of attacking intent with increased aggression late in the half, led by Kayla Budish, Taylor Gordon, and Abbey Stanton. A potential opportunity in the 41st minute slipped away on an unlucky touch by Gordon, allowing Aurora to regain control. Rally’s defensive effort kept the score from getting too far out of reach as the first half came to a close with Rally down two goals. 

Berg came up with a big stop immediately in the 46th minute as the second half kicked off. Berg continued to snuff out opportunities for Aurora, making a slew of stops and collections early in the second half, including another massive save in the 55th minute. Despite an impressive show from Berg, Iongi was able to slip a third Aurora goal past her in the 59th minute. Rally kept up a stalwart defensive effort, but Aurora found a fourth in the 71st minute from Gutierrez. The floodgates seemed to open for Aurora as a fifth goal came just moments after in the 74th minute as Dubé found the back of the net. Another goal came in the 77th minute from Kitagawa. Dubé secured a brace for herself with another goal in the 83rd minute. With extreme inclement weather approaching, the match was called immediately following the Dubé brace, and Aurora collected all three points at home.

This will be Rally Madison’s second chance at overcoming an undefeated Minnesota Aurora side after falling 2-0 to them in its inaugural home opener. With a squad still searching for its rhythm and an offense that’s just starting to light up, Rally Madison will aim to end its dry spell and bring home all three points from the road this weekend.

LAST MATCH RECAP – MAD v SFC

Rally Madison FC fell 2-1 on the road at Sioux Falls City FC in the hosts’ home opener, despite battling back after a difficult start. With everything to gain on the road, Rally Madison FC entered the match determined to secure a result, but Sioux Falls came out on the front foot. Sioux Falls set the tone early with high pressure and pace, striking first in the 8th minute before doubling their lead just minutes later. Zillman was busy from the opening whistle in a sweeper-keeper role, including a key stop in the 17th minute to keep it 1-0 before the second goal followed shortly after.

Rally Madison gradually grew into the match, using the wind at their back and finding more control in possession. Gordon provided the breakthrough with a composed finish after beating two defenders and the goalkeeper for her first goal of the season, pulling Rally back into the game. Wyttenbach and Bever both came close to equalizing before halftime, while Zillman made a crucial stoppage-time save to keep it within reach.

After half, Rally had shifted momentum, becoming the more aggressive side and shedding their early passivity. Rally showed an improved defensive organization, but Sioux Falls continued to generate chances. In the 76th minute, Zillman was forced off, and Rosenfeld stepped in. Rosenfeld immediately made an impact, producing crucial saves to keep Rally alive.

Although Rally presented a strong second-half push and late chances, including a near equalizer from Shea in the final moments, they couldn’t find the finish. Despite the result, Rally Madison showed resilience after a difficult start, growing into the match and finishing with intensity.

Despite a stretch of difficult results, Rally Madison has continued to build team chemistry while showing resilience and determination on both ends of the pitch. Rally will look to find its breakthrough against Sioux Falls, which has yet to lose this season.

LAST MATCH RECAP – MAD v RKC

Rally Madison FC put in a strong, competitive performance, generating opportunities and outshooting RKC Third Coast FC, but ultimately fell 1-0 in the hard-fought match. RKC controlled possession early, but Rally quickly settled in and began creating chances. Stanton, Murray, and McGuire all tested the defense in the opening stages, while additional efforts from Walos and Arthur kept the pressure on as Rally consistently challenged the RKC backline.

Defensively, Rally stood firm throughout the first half. Christopher and Shea anchored a strong defensive effort, while Maurer made key plays to keep possession alive and disrupt RKC’s runs, including a crucial block in the 36th minute. Rally Madison goalkeeper Zillman came up big as well, handling dangerous chances late in the half. Despite the pressure, the match remained scoreless at halftime. 

Rally came out of the second half aggressively, continuing to create chances and control stretches of play, but struggling to find the finishing touch. RKC broke through in the 74th minute with the game’s lone goal. Still, Rally responded immediately, with Arnold firing a shot in the 75th minute and continuing attacking pressure in the closing stages. Late chances nearly produced a level score, including a close opportunity from Clare Shea in the 88th minute and a final corner that nearly found the back of the net. 

Despite controlling large portions of the match and creating numerous chances, Rally was unable to convert, falling 1-0 at the final whistle. Rally Madison FC showed strong defensive organization, attacking promise, and resilience throughout the match, and will look to build on the performance moving forward.

RKC Third Coast FC enters the contest with an identical 0-0-2 record, priming a competitive matchup as both teams aim to flip the script and earn their first win of the regular season.

Coming into the highly anticipated USL W Match of the Week at Breese Stevens Field, Rally Madison looked to secure a victory in its inaugural home opener. Minnesota Aurora FC opened the action in full force, seizing the first goal in the 4’ to put Rally Madison down 1-0. Building off the momentum of its early lead, Aurora continued to apply high pressure, forcing Rally goalkeeper Zillman to navigate a crowded box. In the 19’, Zillman was challenged once again when Aurora found the crossbar on a near miss. Minnesota Aurora doubled its lead in the 28’ when Kitagawa capitalized on a goal to make the score 2-0. Rally Madison’s defense continued to battle through the first half, ceasing a breakaway with a solid defensive tackle by Shea in the 44’ followed by an outstanding stop by Zillman in the 45’.

With 45’ left to fight, Rally Madison continued to search for its rhythm both defensively and offensively. Zillman continued her impressive performance with a string of noteworthy saves in the 66’, 70’ and 75’. In the 78’, Arthur made a strong connection from a well-placed corner but couldn’t quite find the back of the net. Rally Madison battled from all corners of the pitch until the final whistle, holding the score at 2-0 for the remainder of the match. While not the result the inaugural squad hoped for, Rally Madison will look to build off of their grit and tenacity in tonight’s match to come back with a strong showing against RKC Third Coast FC next Wednesday on the road.

Rally Madison FC’s inaugural campaign continues this Saturday as the squad returns to Breese Stevens Field to face Minnesota Aurora FC in search of a second home victory after a 2-0 preseason win against Chicago House FC. Rally Madison look to bounce back following a hard-fought loss against River Light FC in the club’s first regular season match Wednesday night in Aurora, Illinois. Despite the result, Megan Murray’s late 90’+4 goal showcased the squad’s ability to battle until the final whistle. Minnesota Aurora FC enters Saturday’s matchup, also set to play its second league game of the season. The opponent has been undefeated in the regular season on three occasions, and they went 9-0-2 in their 2025 campaign. This match will be Rally’s first-ever league Home Match with post-match autographs with the players and a fireworks show to follow.

LAST MATCH RECAP – RVL v MAD

Tonight’s match started fairly evenly, with both teams making their way into their opposition’s final third. It was River Light FC that struck first with a goal in the 9’ from Tetteh off a corner. Rally nearly found the equalizer in the 25’, but their shot ricocheted off the post. Zillman put on a show, making numerous stops and saves to keep the match within reach for Rally. Madison entered the break a goal down to River Light.

Rally started the second half aggressively, keeping on the gas with constant pressure and an attacking mindset. Despite an incredible defensive showing, Birdsell doubled the River Light lead in the 73’. Rally had a great one-on-one opportunity with the keeper in the 82’, but Folliard came up with a massive stop to keep Madison off the board. Rally had another run at the goal in the 86’ but Folliard foiled their plans again. In the last quarter of the match, Rally took control and stayed on the attack, constantly finding opportunities in the final third, but were unable to pick the lock. Rally finally found the back of the net in 90’+4 with a brilliant shot from Megan Murray, but it was too little, too late this evening as the referee blew the final whistle moments after the Rally goal. Despite the defeat, Rally showed incredible tenacity in their first-ever USL W match, with plenty of positives to build on as the 2026 season unfolds.

Rally Madison FC head to Aurora, Illinois, this Wednesday to face River Light FC in the program’s first-ever USL W League match. After securing a 2-0 victory at home in their preseason friendly against Chicago House FC this past Saturday, the squad will look to carry that momentum into the regular season. The debut match proved that the inaugural team—with a wide array of girls from different programs and across age groups—could play together in a competitive setting and emerge successful. River Light FC is coming off a 2025 campaign where they were ranked 21st and tallied 18 goals. With both teams eager to set a positive tone for the uncharted season ahead, fans can expect an exciting matchup at Spartan Athletic Park.

LAST MATCH RECAP – CHAC v RMFC

Rally Madison FC took the pitch for their very first match night at Breese Stevens Field today. This historic moment kicked off at 6:30 against Chicago House AC in a pre-season friendly match. Budish had the first big chance of the game in the 5’ when she took a dangerous free kick just outside the box, but it was handled easily by the Chicago House keeper. Budish ripped another shot in the 8’ but only found the side netting. Rally put another shot on goal in the 12’ with their attack remaining relentless, but couldn’t yet find the goal. Rally forced another save in the 15’ as they continued to control the majority of possession. Another House save was forced in the 16’ as Rally remained on the gas. Rally looked like they picked up the lead in the 24’ with a goal from Anna Sikorski, however the goal was called off as it was ruled an indirect free kick that no other Rally players touched and was ruled no goal. Megan Murray found the breakthrough with a beautiful goal in the 28’ to give Rally the lead. Play was interrupted shortly as a rabbit entered the pitch, possibly becoming the most organic introduction of a sports team mascot ever. Enter the Rally Rabbit. Rally continued to easily control the pace and tempo of the match, consistently staying in the House final third. Anna Sikorski struck again in the 43’ and this time the goal stood. Rally took the 2-0 lead with them into the break. 

Nelson came up with a big save in the 48’ to keep their sheet clean. The second half carried out fairly evenly with both teams finding themselves in the other’s final third but unable to pick the lock. Rally came out victorious in their first test, holding their 2-0 lead to the final whistle.
